Reliance Industries, owned by Mukesh Ambani, is set to launch a new artificial intelligence model ‘Hanooman’ in India, in a bid to compete with ChatGPT’s popularity around the world. The new AI model has been developed in partnership with engineering universities and is expected to be launched in the Indian market in March this year. The BharatGPT Group, a joint initiative of Reliance Industries, the Government of India and IIT Bombay, has been working on the project with start-ups like Sarvam and Krutrim. The Hanooman GPT will be utilized in healthcare, government services, economy and education sectors, and is expected to benefit 450 million Reliance Jio subscribers across the country.

The Hanooman GPT is set to revolutionize the AI industry in India, with its user-friendly interface and customized models for specific tasks. During an event last year, Reliance Jio Infocomm chairman Akash Ambani had announced the arrival of BharatGPT in India with Jio 2.0.
