The study was conducted at Medicine Department, AIIMS Rishikesh, in Northern India. The hospital is largest in the region and has a capacity of 1000 beds, serving a catchment of around 290,995 people. The hospital offers a range of services, including outpatient care, electrocardiography, ultrasonography, and laboratory services, and is open to all socioeconomic groups. Between January 2021 and December 2022, 1225 hypertension patients were seen at the hospital. The hospital’s popularity is due to its ranking as the largest hospital in the region and the specialized ophthalmology services it has provided over the years.
