CTAB being a Positive Micelle can be Expected to Bind PDP more Strongly : A Part from The Book Chapter : Micellar Effects of Cetyl Trimethyl Ammonium Bromide (CTAB) and Sodium Dodecyl Sulphate (SDS) on Oxidation of Indigo Carmine with Potassium Peroxy Diphosphate

PDP

CTAB being a positive micelle can be expected to bind PDP more strongly. So in Indigo carmine due to ionization of the sulphonic acid group is also bound CTAB micelles. It is reflected in the more significant acceleration of the reaction in CTAB compared to that in the presence of SDS, which gives a negatively charged micellar pseudo phase. The binding of indigo carmine by CTAB is not reflected in the kinetics because of the zero order behaviour with respect to indigo carmine (i.e, independence of rate on bound or unbound indigo carmine).
