It is the most common topology of APF where the switching device is connected in parallel. Its behavior is similar to that of current source as it injects a current with 180o phase-shift at PCC. It consists of a voltage source converter (VSC) with pulse with modulation (PWM) controller and a control strategy for generating reference signal for the filter current, which is then processed by PWM controller for switching of VSC. The conduction and switching losses of VSC is provided by a connected capacitor.
